Technical Sales Representative

Job Description

We are a growing firm providing energy efficiency program management, including sustainability planning, energy audits, and general project/construction management.

We are looking for a technical sales representative interested in energy efficiency and sustainability to join our team.

This position is responsible for sales and marketing efforts to generate growth for the company. With little supervision, this position requires an entrepreneurial attitude and a desire to succeed. This role may require some travel in the southeastern United States.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Create and lead sales strategies for assigned markets and/or territories
  • Perform daily customer and prospect engagement
  • Identify customer and market needs; develop technical and commercial proposals that demonstrate our ability to meet the need
  • Ensure appropriate communication with engineering and operations to facilitate successful product delivery
  • Receive orders from clients, relay orders to operations personnel, and organize logistics for project kickoff
  • Maintain project analysis and performance reports with customer
  • Support the project accounting team and handle invoicing issues as required
  • Provide short-term and long-term sales forecasts for assigned markets and/or territories
  • Meet and exceed sales targets
  • Assume responsibility for overall customer satisfaction
  • Perform other marketing and administrative duties as required

Required Skills & Experience

  • Internal and external customer service skills
  • Able to effectively communicate with customers from central offices to field
  • Able to manage and work with people in a harmonious way to accomplish the tasks assigned to this position
  • Must possess strong computer and application skills that include MS Office
  • Must possess excellent organization and leadership skills and be familiar with the terminology used in and around the public sector and general business communities
  • Build professional internal and external relationships that maintain the 2KB core values

  • Knowledge of the energy efficiency and sustainability industry and trends
  • Self-starter with an outgoing attitude and a willingness to develop new relationships
  • Sales experience in energy efficiency and sustainability
  • Highly organized
  • Commitment to high-quality standards and continuous improvements
  • Ability to interpret and analyze technical and financial data and/or reports
